My name is Lauder. I am a Clydesdale. I am 18 hands high and my colour is strawberry roan. When I was born I was Mac but when I successfully applied to become a police horse I was renamed Lauder in line with the police tradition of naming all horses after towns . Before my police days I was a carriage horse taking brides and grooms to weddings in all my finery. In the police I controlled the crowd at football matches where I made a lot of friends. Many people came to the football matches just to see me. I also controlled marches and demonstrations.
As I am becoming older my arthritis is too bad for the streets of the cities and I have recurrent airway obstruction (like asthma for horses) so I need to rest in a dust free environment. I came to Delta Blue Unicorns in November 2020 and am very happy here. I like my stables, my haylage net and my friends. I enjoy agility work and being light;y ridden, although I now have CPL which means I can’t do much now. I am not so keen on lunging…it is very boring and I do not see the point!
